Surely no one would have believed this story if they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes. The obstetricians didn’t know how to react, as this was the first such case in their entire practice.
The obstetricians at Chisinau’s First City Maternity Hospital were utterly shocked at the birth of little Stepan Bazheev. The reason for such a violent reaction was the fact that just a few minutes after birth, the baby began to utter quite coherent words. The amazement and joy of the young parents, Lisa and Rodion Bazheev, knew no bounds.
Seventeen-year-old Liza’s pregnancy proceeded naturally and without any complications. The same was true for the birth. Experienced maternity staff delivered the baby, and a perfectly healthy Styopa was born. But before the doctors could even congratulate her, the newborn boy clearly uttered the word “daddy.” Marina Panova, a midwife with 30 years of experience, attended the birth. In an interview with journalists, she honestly admitted that in her entire career, she had never seen anything like this before and had heard the baby speak with her own ears!
This phenomenon could have been considered a coincidence, but the baby continued to repeat the word “daddy” until, a couple of minutes later, he finally uttered “mummy.” And the very next day, as the happy mother gently rocked the baby to sleep and told him that his father was about to arrive, the son unexpectedly clarified, “Who? Daddy?”

Naturally, this phenomenon could not go unnoticed by the general public. This case attracted particular interest from the scientific community, as few Russian scientists had previously been able to personally observe such an incredible child. A number of scientific theories immediately emerged.
Many experts believe that Stepan learned the words he spoke while in the womb, as it has long been known that a child can hear what’s happening outside. Liza and Rodion, in response to this theory, say they’ve read about it for a long time. They approached their pregnancy with the utmost responsibility and strove to develop their baby in every possible way.
The father tells how he read fairy tales, poems, and sang songs to the boy with a guitar. The young mother adds that she and her husband also often played classical music for the child.
Qualified physician Maria Panova asserts that it is no coincidence that such a developed child was born into this particular family. Styopa’s 25-year-old father is an athlete and coach, and also a highly developed person spiritually. He and his wife love each other very much, which creates favorable conditions for the child’s rapid development.
Specialists studying exceptional children say that children born today are significantly more developed than those born just 10 years ago. The reason for this development is the constant change in living nature. As a result of these changes, humans as a species also change, but parental activity plays a significant role in this.
“If you treat your child as if they were already born, even in the early stages of pregnancy, the likelihood that they will be gifted increases significantly,” says Maria Panova. “That’s exactly what we see in this situation. Lisa constantly entertained him, interacted with him, and engaged with him.”
Rodion Bazheev stated the following in one of his interviews:
“Stepan does everything much faster than his peers. Not long ago, a nurse came to check on him and was amazed that, although he’s not even a month old, he’s already rolling over onto his tummy on his own. Usually, children start doing this much later. Also, when I sing the same songs I used to sing to him and read the same stories, he seems to recognize them, becoming transfixed and listening more attentively.
A wave of various opinions, theories, comments, and discussions regarding Styopa’s phenomenon has swept the internet. Many consider the boy to be one of the famous “indigo” children who possess extraordinary abilities. Some argue that this is merely a coincidence and that there is no evidence of any abilities more advanced than those of others. Some even claim that they were born with similar talents, but that they were lost as they grew older and their development returned to normal.
In any case, the entire world is closely following the growth of this unusual child and expects new achievements from Styopa.
