The Cinemascope project returns to the Azgur Museum. The program features films by Lynch, Hitchcock, and Kubrick.

The Cinemascope cultural project, which has been showing Minsk residents classic films for many years, has announced the start of a new season. At the end of November, it was announced that the Monochrome venue on Oktyabrskaya Street would be closing, after which Cinemascope was put on hiatus. Now it has been announced that screenings will resume in the Azgur Museum’s sculpture hall.

The new series of screenings is called “Projection Mechanics.” “We invite you to take a behind-the-scenes look at the filmmaking process and understand how cinema works from the inside. We’ll discuss why a particular camera angle was chosen, how lighting changes the perception of a character, and why the director needed this complex 10-minute take,” the organizers write on social media.

Screenings begin on March 20 and run until June 5. The program includes films by David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, Ingmar Bergman, Alfred Hitchcock, and other masters of world cinema.

Cinemascope warns in advance that food and beverages will not be allowed in the Azgur Museum’s sculpture hall.
